Yin and Yoga Nidra

Ease into your day with a practice designed for deep release and mental clarity.

  • Class: 35 to 40 Minute Yin Yoga

  • Bonus: Ends with a calming Yoga Nidra

  • Props needed: A soft blanket to cushion your knees and a thick pillow. (or 2 if your pillows are thin)

Practicing yin yoga first thing in the morning offers a profound advantage for your body. To maximize the benefits of yin and truly increase long-term flexibility, it's best to practice when your muscles are cool, just as they are when you wake up. When our muscles are already warm and active, they tend to absorb the tension of a stretch, effectively shielding the deeper layers of the body.

Yin yoga enables us to gently stress our connective tissues, including the fascia, ligaments, and joints. By approaching the practice with cool muscles, we can more effectively bypass the muscular system and allow the long, passive holds to work directly on these tissues.

This process helps to release deep-seated tension, hydrate the joints, and create a lasting sense of spaciousness and mobility that will carry you through your day. It's a quiet, intentional way to meet your body exactly where it is and set a peaceful tone for the hours ahead.

Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness between sleeping and being awake, where the body is fully relaxed, and the mind enters a calm state of body awareness. The teacher will guide you with a set of verbal instructions into this state, where little movement is required. People of all levels can benefit from this stress-relieving practice of deep relaxation.

1- Make sure you have the Zoom app ready on your device.

2- Pop over to the schedule page (right here!) and choose your class to save your spot.

3- Keep an eye on your inbox! Your special link will arrive in the confirmation email

4- When it's time, you'll hang out in the virtual "waiting room" for just a moment, and then I'll welcome you right in 5 Minutes before class. (Please respond as I want to keep this space safe for everyone who joins)

5- Your space, your choice: feel free to keep your video on or turn it off, whatever feels most comfortable for you. Everyone will be muted once class begins, so you can relax, flow with the session, and fully immerse yourself in the experience. (I require you to turn on your camera for first-time access only for a few minutes)


A little note: Life is wonderfully unpredictable! If unexpected events, or just a bit of beautiful chaos, mean I ever need to cancel last minute, I'll to let you know right away via email.
